More
reports are coming through about the incident in La Manga
and it doesn't sound good.
Three women have alleged that nine players from Leicester
City had forced their way into a hotel room in Cartagena town
late Wednesday and several of them had made a sexual assault
causing injuries, according to a police statement.
The
statement cited a hospital report saying the women had injuries
to the body.
Nine
players were initially detained but one was later released.
The eight others were to appear before a judge Thursday. Police
said four of the players were charged with sexual assault
while all eight were charged with breaking and entering. The
players were only identified by their initials.
According
to the police statement, a guard at Los Belones hotel said
some of the players who appeared to be drunk had been troubling
other customers.
The
women reported the incident at Alicante airport, police said.
They were bound for Germany but were asked to remain in Spain
to give evidence.
*Update*
Sky footage just shown appears to have the Spanish police
throwing James Scowcroft, Frank Sinclair and Matt Elliott
into the back of a police van?
Shocked
Leicester fans are not only incredulous about the incident,
but even more surprised when the names that are doing the
rounds as involved are (alledgedly!) the following: Elliott,
Freund, Scowcroft, Gillespie, Dickov, Coyne, Nalis and Sinclair.
Looking at the tv pictures it would appear three of these
are indeed correct. We've yet to see who the other bunch are
and what really happened.
Note
to club: If you end up sacking any of them, please refer to
the Dennis Wise case for how not to do it. Thanks.
