The
Foxes Trust has announced that it is disappointed with the
action of Leicester City with regard to sending letters to
supporters in block L1 threatening them with ejection &
bans for persistent standing.
Over
the past week the Trust has been consulting other Trusts from
around the country to see if all football clubs have been
sending similar letters to fans to try and establish if Leicester
Citys actions is a result of pressure from the Safety
authorities following the fan on the pitch incident
against Villa.
Richard
Sheehan Board Member Trust Development said
At
Liverpool general warning letters have been sent out to all
season ticket holders about standing but not targeted at selected
individuals while in the Football League at Bristol leaflets
were handed out at turnstiles but no individually targeted
letters appear to have been sent
We
have also discovered that statistics are being compiled on
clubs' away supporters which would result in reduced away
allocations next season for clubs who have fans persistently
standing
2
years ago the Football Licensing Authority called a meeting
which included the Football Safety Officers Association, Association
of Metropolitan Authorities, The Premier League, Football
League, F.A. and Supporters' Organisations. The outcome of
the meeting was a decision that all licensing authorities
should carry out a risk assessment of the danger (or otherwise)
of people standing in seated areas and, if such a risk was
considered significant, recommend to affected clubs a strategy
of dealing with it
The
Foxes Trust fully recognises the club has a responsibility
to ensure the safety of everyone attending matches at the
Walkers Stadium & that it has to comply with current Health
& Safety regulations.
However
Nigel Ritchie Foxes Trust Company Secretary states
At
a time when everyone connected with the club needs to be pulling
together & getting behind the team these letters only
serve to alienate a section of the clubs supporters.
We
would ask all supporters who received letters to get in contact
with the Trust either in writing or via e-mail to me at [email protected]
We
feel that we need to get the club, the local Health &
Safety regulators and representatives from those who have
received letters together. The Foxes Trust offer to chair
the meeting and feel it should take place during this week,
so grievances can be aired and in order to an find acceptable
solution for the reminder of the season, which means we can
then all focus our shared passion on the game against Wolves"

you receivd a letter? What's your view on it all? Tell
