Good
old FIFA eh? Not content with causing total confusion last
week over the offside law, they're now stopping our players
representing their country because of beaurocracy!
Thanks
to their committee not meeting until after the games on Wednesday,
Ben Thatcher won't be able to make his debut for Wales against
Scotland.
He'd
been named by Mark Huges because he has a Welsh grandmother.
But
FIFA have refused to rubber-stamp the 28-year-old's registration
until the day after the friendly international.
A
spokesman for the FA of the Wales said:
"The
paperwork is in order, but itwill have to go before the FIFA
committee and they don't meet until the dayafter the game.
"There's
not a lot we can do apart from go along with it.
"Ben
will still train with the squad and get to know the rest of
the lads, but everyone is very, very disappointed for him
because we know how keen hewas to be involved."
Snatch
may be able to make his debut in the next game if picked,
against Budapest for a friendly with Hungary on March 31.
2
other City players are in international action...City goalkeeper
Danny Coyne is named in the Welsh squad and striker Paul Dickov
has kept his place in the Scottish squad.
