Young
Foxes striker Tommy Wright was making his U-20 England debut
at Stevenage's ground on Thursday evening having being promoted
from the U-19s .
He came on as a sub and played well in the 2-0 win over the
Czechs, and gave as good as he got in a pushing contest. His
loan spell at Brentford looks like it's paying off and looks
set to be extended to give him more match experience.
The
Sky commentator mentioned how he'd been talking to Dave Bassett,
and Bassett had said what high regard Tommy was held in by
Leicester and how they wanted him to be playing regularly
to get experience.
If
he's made a good impression on the U-20 selectors too and
gets a call up to the again he could have the excitement of
the world championships in Dubai in November. Anyone fancy
a bit of winter sun?
