Leicester
City have completed the season-long loan signing of Ipswich
Town striker Marcus Bent, after missing out on West Brom's Jason
Roberts. Roberts
decided in the end to go to Pompey for the season rather than
sign for Wigan.
BluesWeb.co.uk
reveal that "under fire chairman David Sheepshanks told
Foxes chiefs that if they wanted to take on Bent permenantly,
they could do so without having to pay a fee to the club."
but City instead opted for the year long loan option.
The
25-year-old has been with the Tractor Boys for just under
two years following a £3million move from Blackburn
Rovers and has scored 22 goals in 67 appearances.
It
is rumoured that he is on £12 - £15k a week at
Ipswich.
Foxes
boss Micky Adams told the club's official website:
"Marcus
demonstrated his desire immediately to come and play for Leicester
City and have another crack at the Premiership.
"It's
a good signing for us and adds competition to places in our
squad which is what we are looking for."
