Micky
could miss out in securing the services of Jason Roberts,
West Brom's want away striker.
Apparently
he has the chance to come to us for the season on loan if
he can't agree terms with Wigan who have come up with enough
money, £2.5m, for him at the last minute.
Baggies
Chairman Jeremy Peace added: "We reluctantly accepted
Jason's transfer request on Thursday, July 3. We have fully
explored all our options since and Wigan are the only club
to have produced an offer the board finds acceptable.
"However,
should Jason feel on footballing grounds he doesn't want to
go there, we have also accepted a season-long loan offer from
Leicester City.
"Although
loaning Jason out was never our preference, this way he would
get Premiership football while we would be suitably recompensed
as Leicester have matched the terms we proposed."
Meanwhile,
the transfer window will be extended to Monday afternoon to
match the Champions League deadline rather than Sunday, the
end of August. Gives Micky a chance to get someone else in?
