The
first team may have come away losers on Monday in Brighton,
but City fans showed how it's done by lifting the first ever
Courage Charity Cup at Burgess Hill on Sunday.
The
game, organised by City fans down on the South Coast, and
the Foxes Trust, raised money for the Rockinghorse Appeal
at the Royal Alexandra Childrens Hospital and money for Keith
Weller.
The
game went to extra time but it was too hot to do that nonsense,
so the lads went straight onto penalties, with City fans coming
out the eventual winners after great work by Foxes keeper
Bobby Moore.
All
the fans from Foxes Trust FC and NSC Albion went on for a
night out together at the Cobblers Thumb, where landlord Geoff
forced them all to have one hell of a night. A late bar (very
late from what we hear! Certain people were still up at 3.30am...),
and a raffle (with the Brighton fans of course winning the
signed City shirt) saw many new friends made.
Keith
Weller's cousin had to be helped home in the wee small hours
but seemed to have a good time! Early figures indicate over
£1000 raised for Keith. If you want to donate anything
for Keith's treatment, do so here
The
event looks set to become an annual event with Brighton already
wanting a chance at getting their hands on the cup next season.
