City
manager Micky Adams has revealed that he is on the verge of
signing the French midfielder Lilian Nalis.
Adams
wanted to sign the 31-year-old Chievo midfielder last year
from Bastia, as revealed by FFS in May 2002, but lack of money
stuffed that idea right up.
Lilian's
not had many games at Chievo and has said in previous interviews
that at 30 years of age he has no desire to sit on the bench...so
has Micky offered him first team football?
"I
am very hopeful that we will be able to complete a deal,"
Adams told the club's official website.
"Everything
has been agreed with the player who is actually with us at
the moment for pre-season training, and there are just a few
loose ends to tie up with Chievo.
"I
wanted to sign him a year ago from Bastia but we didn't have
the money to do so at the time and he went to Italy instead
and joined Chievo.
"He
is a six footer who has a good engine, can get about midfield
and is good in both penalty areas. I am optimistic that everything
will be completed in the next few days."
