Sick of hearing about Beckham to Barca? How about Barca to Leicester instead then?

Unbelieveably City have managed to persuade the Spanish giants to come and play us in a pre-season friendly on August 8th at the new Stadium.

Maybe it's part of John Holme's deal for Beckham. "Yes Mr Spanish Presidential candidate, of course you can Mr Beckham for £25m, but only if you play at my favourite club's nice new stadium in August too."

Cue many merchandising opportunities! And why not. We get to see some big names and have summat to tell the grandkids, and City get some much needed income. A massive well done to the club for getting Barca to come play us.

City's chief executive Tim Davies said:

"The Walkers Stadium was built to host big-match football and they don't come much bigger than Barcelona.

"This fixture is not just a major coup for Leicester City but for the whole community of Leicestershire and promises to be a marvellous footballing occasion.''

Kluivert, Overmars and Enrique versus some old carthorses who'll show these fancy overpaid Johnny Foreigners you don't need to be fast to get the better of them. Should be a great night out. Spare a thought for poor old Trev Benjamin who won't be able to play due to injury though.
