Brighton's
left winger Paul Brooker looks set to sign for Leicester within
the next couple of days.
Speaking
to the Argus, Brighton's local rag, Brooker has admitted he
is unsure whether he is good enough for the Premiership though!
"It
has come completely out of the blue, but I am absolutely thrilled
by it," Brooker said.
"I
have always wanted to play in the Premiership. I don't know
if I am good enough, but there is only one way to find out.
"It's
a massive step up from the First Division, the biggest step
between all the divisions. I am not kidding myself, but I
have got to give it a go."
"Some
of the grounds are unbelievable," he said.
"You
dream about playing at them and I will look forward to playing
against international and world class players. I'll enjoy
the whole experience."
Brooker
played at Filbert Way in April. He said:
"It's
an unbelievable stadium. I haven't played in many like that.
It was fantastic, one of the best I have been in. The playing
surface is beautiful and hopefully I will be playing on it
a few times next season!
"I
think everyone at Leicester knows it is going to be a hard
season. They did extremely well in Division One, but this
is another level.
"I
am sure Micky will be buying players with Premiership experience
over the next few weeks and hopefully we can survive."
Londoner
Brooker, who is 26, was signed by Adams for Brighton from
Fulham for £25,000 three years ago, and scored 13 goals in
119 League games for the Seagulls during their rise from the
Third Division to the First. He was out fo contract with Brighton
this year and Adams has snapped him up on a free.
Brighton
fans and the Brighton official website say that on a good
day Brooker is great, but can have off days too and doesn't
perform too well in mud! He's known as Bozza to some fans,
or Boz the nerd or techno geek.
