As City push to go up to the Prem, Filbert Street is coming down.

Demolition company, Connell Brothers, start work on Filbo as early as next week.

The first few weeks will see a lot of work going inside the ground and then the Carling Stand will start being dismantled (no-one wanted to buy it).

They'll then get the big machinery onto the old pitch area and start pulling the old stands in from the inside. Lots of the rubble will be recycled. The pitch level is a lot lower than street level and that will need to be filled in with material produced from the demolition.

Downing Developments are to build a £30m development "student village" for 675 students on the site.

None of the site is to be kept as a memory and material from the old Filbo is not to be made available apparently.
