Wow!
The new Chairman really knows how to capture the interest
of the fans!
On
announcing that the deal had been finally done and that Leicester
City were coming out of administration, the new Chairman,
John Holmes, stunned people all over the world at the press
conference by floating the idea that the club should change
its name.
The
proposal, which is for fans to discuss and maybe vote on,
is to change the club's name from Leicester City to Leicester
Fosse.
The
rationale behind it? It's a new beginning and a new era so
let's start with a new (ish!) name. But let's retain some
of our history too.
It's
also because when you say City, we know who we mean, but nationally
most people think of Man City. If you say Fosse, it could
only mean us.
Many
fans were massively in favour of calling the new Stadium the
Fosse stadium but will they want to change the name of the
club?
The
fact that the new Chairman is going to put forward radical
and innovative ideas and listen to what the fans think, rather
than just impose hated stuff on us (post horn gallop, blue
shorts etc etc) surely is a great new step forward too?
So,
Leicester Fosse...is the way to go? FFS loves the idea. It's
exciting and marks the start of a new era. But what do you
think?
