As
FFS suggested earlier this morning, the Football League have
apparently rejected City's request to bring in loan players.
The
Creditors Voluntary Agreement appears to be the problem because
some of it is owed to other clubs. £1.2million is owed to
Tottenham and Chelsea for Ian Walker and Dennis Wise respectively.
League
spokesman John Nagle said:
"We
are taking a hard line with Leicester City because they have
failed to control their finances in the past.
"Hopefully,
it won't happen again. But we can't risk the club being threatened
by administration in the future, so we can't allow them to
loan players.
"The
club still owes money to their creditors and to allow them
to sign players gives out the wrong message.
"Although
they are almost out of administration, they are still tied
to a CVA that may carry on to the end of the season and, unless
there are extenuating circumstances, our position will remain
the same. We hope to sit down with them in the near future
to resolve the issue and to ensure it doesn't go beyond the
end of the season.''
It
appears that the thing that stops the loan signings is owing
*any* money what so ever to other football clubs/PFA/FA/FL,
etc. as they will slap an embargo on you.
The
people who enforced this were a panel of three Chairmen from
the League...Sheffield United, Ipswich and Milwall. Surely
they have a vested interest...especially when one is our main
promotion rival? Why are they singling Leicvester out for
this treatment?
Surely
the Football league would have told City weeks ago that these
were the rules? or would they...?
And
why will it be any different at the end of the season? Surely
we'll still owe money to these clubs then? Will they move
the goalposts again? Does it mean we can't sign anyone in
the summer and couldl get relegated straight away?
The
Football League need to give Leicester and the fans some explanations.
Quick.
