The
Foxes Trust have revealed that they met this week with acting
Chairman of the Lineker Consortium, Jon Holmes, and prospective
Chief Executive Officer, Tim Davies.
Mr
Holmes has described the discussions as "very constructive
and friendly, touching on the Consortium’s plans for the Club,
possible board representation for the Trust, the creation
of a new fans’ forum with input from the Trust, shareholdings
in New Fox plc, the company formed by the consortium to takeover
the Club, and many other ways in which the consortium would
like to work with the Foxes Trust."
Despite
the new company being called New Fox PLC this doesn't mean
it will be a PUBLIC limited company, and the only way normal
City fans will be able to hold any sort of share will probably
be through the Foxes Trust. So if you haven't joined yet...why
not?! Check out their website
for how to join.
Jon
Holmes said,
“I
would like to place on record the admiration of the consortium
for the way that the Trust have set about establishing themselves,
and raising over £100,000 already. Leicester people generally
through their support for the Club, the consortium and the
trust have shown how much they value the role of the Club
in the community. We remain committed to finalizing the takeover
and working with the Trust, and the business community of
Leicestershire in the future”.
Wendy
Bennett, Chair of the Foxes Trust, said,
“We are thankful to Jon Holmes & Tim Davies for the meeting.
We welcome the opportunity to meet and discuss their ideas
for the future of the club.
"The
meeting was constructive & we remain optimistic that Foxes
Trust can work with the consortium in many different ways
for the benefit of its members, the club & the local community.
"The
Foxes Trust Board will meet in the near future to discuss
the proposals put forward by the consortium.”
Tim
Davies, the new CEO, was a formal professional tennis player
in Hong Kong before pursing a career in business.
Holmes
said of the new CEO's appointment,
"We
were very impressed by the financial skills and the people
skills he had and we had no hesitation in putting him forward
for the role.
"What
we want is the club to be run by professionals. It is very
important to get a good business side. Tim is an expert in
the sort of areas we will need expertise"
