.. Legends night sold out (21/01/03)

The City ‘Legends Night’, organised by Alan Birchenall MBE in aid of Foxes Trust, has sold out of tickets in less than 2 hours!

The event will take place on Tuesday 18th Feb at the Great Hall at the Walkers Stadium. Ex City players Gary Lineker, Gordon Banks, Emile Heskey, Neil Lennon, Frank Worthington, Steve Walsh, Graham Cross, Frank Mclintock & Gary McAllister will take part in Q&A Night with all donating their time for free. All of the guests will bring along an item of memorabilia for a raffle on the night.

Birch said it demonstrated how much they wanted to help

‘It shows the depth of feeling they have for the club. They love Leicester City as much as I do’ he said.

Steve Smith who is coordinating the Trusts’ fund raising activities said, “It should be a fantastic night – one that everyone will remember. If these guy’s were playing today they would be worth a fortune.”

“How much would they cost at current transfer values – £150million? said Birch. “Plus £35 for me!"

Birch hopes to raise about £10,000 from the evening “I hate setting targets, but I hope we can raise £10,000 for the Trust on the night.”

Trust Chairperson Wendy Bennett said the Trust was grateful to Birch for organising the evening “Birch has given Foxes Trust his full support from day one, & his enthusiasm for organising this event & in nominating Foxes Trust as his benefactor for his fund raising activities this season shows his dedication to Leicester City Football Club & it’s supporters.”
