Fears today rose that City would have to sell players in the January window after the administrator announced that no deal for anyone to buy the club would be concluded for "several weeks".

Bids have gone in from both the Lineker and the Kinch / Parker consortia, but it now appears that the administrator needs more time to look at the bids and agree who can buy the club, if anyone.

The administrator and the two consortia have agreed to meet with the newly formed supporters trust in the near future to discuss proposals.
