Neil Lennon looks set to quit international football...after
receiving death threats.
Lenny
was made Captain of Northern Ireland for Wednesday's game
in the absence of Taggs, but pulled out after receiving death
threats via the BBC in Belfast from people claiming to be
the Loyalist Volunteer Force.
No
codeword was used and the Group have since denied it was them,
but Lenny said he couldn't put his family through it all again.
Threatening grafitti has been daubed on walls near his parents'
house in his home town.Lenny also has a very young daughter
and said,
"Obviously
I can't put them through this every time.
"So
I've thought long and hard about it and I've decided that
I probably won't be going back to play for Northern Ireland."
Lenny
was booed 18 months ago by Loyalist N. Ireland so-called supporters
as he is a Catholic, but things appeared to have improved
in games since then.
Neil's
dad Gerald was one of the first people to ever let us interview
him and a damn fine bloke. FFS sends their best wishes to
all the Lennon family.
