City fans were bracing themselves today for bad news as it emerged that Matt Piper is to undergo a medical at Sunderland...meaning the lad has probably decided to sign for them.

Pipes turned down an offer from Southampton this week and has now reconsidered the move to Sunderland, which he turned down last week, after tey upped the stakes.

City are expected to get £3.5m for Pipes. City fans have been contacting the Mercury in their droves to say how disgusted they are at the decision. See what FFS's Lynn has to say here.

Meanwhile rumours are going round that Adams is trying hard to bring Andy Johnson to the club, and also Steve Walsh. Adams did admit at the Q & A session the other week that he had spoken to Walshy a couple of times in the summer but he thought Walshy should go and start his coaching certifivate first. He also said if Walshy went near his wife he'ds have him!

Also on the transfer front, as the transfer window close date looms at te end of the month, it seems that Villa are back in the hunt for Muzzy...
