Hundreds of Watford fans travelled to Leicester on Saturday
to be turned away without seeing the game.
The
Watford end sold out, and between 2-300 Watford fans were
left outside unable to get in.
Watford
chief executive Tim Shaw apparently tried to intervene to
get his fans in, but to no avail.
Now
FFS has a couple of thoughts on this...
We'd
checked out the Watford website the previous day and although
it was clearly advising Watford fans that it would be a good
idea to buy before they travelled it was definately implying
there would be some on the door as it wasn't a sell out yet.
But
if we'd have been Watford fans would we have risked travelling
all that way without tickets knowing it was the first game
in a new stadium and likely to be a sell out?
We
can understand the Watford fans being annoyed on two counts
though once they were there...
one,
there were Leicester fans buying tickets on the door and sitting
in the Watford bit, and two, more irritatingly, they knew
damn well there were hundreds of seats in the stadium unfilled,
where City hadn't been able to sell seats to the corporate
w*nkers, as well as many in the Watford end that were covered
for the attempt at "segregation.
Well
that was pointless when Leicester fans were buying tickets
for in there wasn't it?
And
City lost nearly £5,000 in ticket sales not to mention
food and beer sales.
This could well be a problem for many travelling fans this
season. There are a lot of Midlands teams bringing large numbers
of fans to see our new stadium. Will we have to make it all
ticket so they're not disappointed on the day? Otherwise how
do we stop City fans getting in there?
Most
disappointing news of the day was to hear that City fans were
being thrown out of the Watford end for spitting at Watford
fans. If this is true they should be throroughly ashamed of
themselves.
