Leicester City fans who live outside the area are coming to
terms with the fact that from Saturday they'll no longer be
able to hear games over the Internet unless they pay to subscribe
to PTV's premium service, Leicester City World.
Fans
could usually listen to the Radio Leicester commentary around
the world via the website, but that is to end this season.
Loyal
fans feel as though they are being screwed for more and more
money, and FFS has received e-mails from many irate foxiles.
It's
easy to blame the club...but maybe we'd better get our facts
straight first. Is it the club that have chosen this route
or is it PTV (NTL's) greedy little mits on it again? And if
that's the case then are we just as much to blame because
as shareholders we voted for the NTL deal that as well as
giving us millions of pounds, also gave them exclusive rights
to the god awful official website...
PTV
have the rights to nearly all the other 1st division clubs
so there's probably not even a chance to hear the commentary
(however biased) from other radio stations now either.
Foxiles
who are going to have to sign up are able to join now for
£19.99 until Jan 2003 or £34.99 until August 2003
(Don't forget naff all happens during summer though including
no daily updates on the damn thing). It's normally £4.99
per month.
Tell us what you think about this in our FFS Fans
Forum.
