You can no longer tell your grandkids about how you saw the
final game ever played on Filbert Street.
Because
on Monday afternoon Leicester City played a game there against
Swansea City, behind closed doors. In their training kit.
And only managed a 0-0 draw.
City
fans found out about the game through the Swansea website,
and some have not been happy to say the least. Swansea's manager
Cussak was a player under Micky Adams when at Fulham.
Swansea
forced Walker to make a great save, and closest shot of the
day was apparently from Lee Marshall. FFS's tip for player
of the season next year (no, honest!)
Assistant
Manager Alan Curtis told Swansea City Online after the game
that it had been a good performance by the Welsh outfit:
"
We are extremely happy with the way the game went. Leicester
sent out a very strong side, with bags of Premiership experience
and quite a few Internationals, so it was a real test for
us but I'm glad to say that we were more than up to it."
City
team 1st
half: Walker, Impey, Davidson, Heath, Sinclair, Wise, Lewis,
Rogers, Deane, Dickov, Piper.
2nd
half: Flowers, Ashton, Delaney, Stewart, Elliott, Lyth, Oakes
(Darby), Marshall, Benjamin, Stevenson, Reeves.
Muzzy Izzet was left out of this week's games including the
trip to Finland as he is still catching up on training due
to his 2 weeks off after the world cup.
Tell us what you think about this in our FFS Fans
