Over a thousand overweight, balding, unfit and drunk men descended
on Leeds this weekend for the annual football event of the
calendar that is WorldNet.
60
teams, made up of fans who organise their games via the Internet,
spent the weekend playing footy, getting drunk and making
friends.
Leicester's
team, the Internet Foxes, were in group 7 with Dunfermline,
Brentford and old friends Stockport. 2 wins and a loss saw
them go though into the next knockout stage of the tournament
for the first time ever.
Drawing
Derby in the next round spurred the lads on and they downed
extra chilli vodkas in the Revolution nightclub before rolling
into bed at 3am.
0-0
after full time the next morning saw the Derby game go to
a golden goal situation. The deadlock still wasn't broken
and it came down to pens...with the Foxes winning 5-4!.
The
last 16, and a draw againt Middlesbrough. Who have won the
tournament 3 times in the last 5 years! Boro came out winners,
3-0, but a great showing by the Leicester lads this year.
Well done from all at FFS.
