David
Speedie saw red today and got himself and Ally Mauchlen sent
off in the Central Masters final in Nottingham.
City
had made a great start in the group stages of this year's
tournament, beating Derby 5-0 and F*&@$£ 3-0. They
then lost 2-1 to Cov but were already through to the final.
City's
team consisted of:
1.
Mark Wallington
2. Paul Ramsey
3. Steve Walsh
4. Gary Parker
5. Ally Mauchlen
6. Ooh Tommy Wright
7. David Lowe
8. Allan parris
9. Tony Spearing
10. Kevin Russell

The
final started badly, with City conceding an early goal. Soon
it was 2-0, and then all hell broke loose. A shocking challenge
by Speedie on Ally Mauchlen wouldn't have been out of place
on an ice hockey rink as Speedie clattered Ally into the side
boards.
Ally
retaliated with a neat headbut and the two of them went at
each other. Both were sent off. City pulled a goal back, but
in the last couple of minutes conceded another 2, to lose
4-1.
A
much better showing than last year though, with a stunning
performance by David Lowe, and goal of the tournament from
Garry Parker, showing he's not lost his touch as he chipped
the keeper.
