Newly promoted Birmingham City are chasing the signature of
City's Welsh international Robbie Savage, according to the
Daily Mail.The
paper claims that Savage could leave for as little as £2.5m.
City,
who would be expecting a much higher fee for the combative
midfielder, certainly cannot afford the player's wages as
a Division One outfit.
Savage
has been coveted by a number of clubs, including Everton and
West Ham, although the reported figure is nearer £5m.
City boss, Micky Adams, said recently that the "vultures are
circling around City's best talent", but admitted that the
club had not had any official offers in recent weeks other
than that of Charlton's bid for Gary Rowett.
