Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier has admitted that it could
be difficult for the club to keep hold of experienced playmaker
Gary McAllister, with first team chances limited for the player.
McAllister,
who's contract is up for renewal this summer could leave the
club on a free transfer, and talk is of the ex-Scotland International
making a return to Leicester City in a player/coach role.
With
Micky Adams taking over, a reshuffle of the coaching staff
is likely in the summer and McAllister would be an excellent
addition to the club's staff.
McAllister
would be an ideal player for City in the Division One, players
with obvious skill and passing is likely to excel. Macca could
do a similar job to that of Garry Parker when Leicester were
last in Division One.
An
area in which Leicester have seriously been lacking is that
of a player who can get the ball down and spray passes all
over the park, with the exception of possibly Izzet. Mixing
experience with youth was of course one of Martin O'Neill's
most prominent traits.
Houllier
told Ananova.com, "Macca knows the clock is ticking and it
may be time to move on".
The
move would cost Leicester nothing, and the club would be getting
a wealth of experience, and the small matter of an exceptional
footballer.
