Well the sh*t has truly hit the fan this time.

The City fans have reacted with utter anger and embarrassment in the main after the new stadium was called the Walkers' Bowl.

Many are resigned to the Walkers bit but the Bowl part has really got people up in arms. The jokes from other fans are already coming in thick and fast.

"Wa*kers Bowl" more like, is a favourite already, as is toilet bowl and crisp bowl.

You can read the comments of hundreds who are not impressed by going to the online petition.

Most are unimpressed with the Americanisation, the commercialisation, the fact that fans were not consulted, the embarrassment of all the jokes it produces and the fact that it has no identity for the club or place it's in.

Fans from all over the country, even Sheepshaggers, have signed it supporting City fans.

Here's a comment we couldn't agree more with...

Possibly the only name worse and more embarrassingly out of tune with what City fans want and believe in would have been "The Dennis Wise Stadium".

Our favourite comment on the petition though, just to prove we've still got a bit of a sense of humour left (but it's wearing mighty thin now) has to be "Serves you bitter twats right" from a Mr. "Peter Taylor"!
