Speaking
after the game, Bassett again questioned the attitude of the
City players.
Talking
to the official site Bassett said:
“It
was a dismal defeat, you can’t deny that when you lose at
home 3-0.
“The disappointing part for me was that after that we looked
like a team that had lost its belief.
“That’s
hard for me to accept.
“The team have been losing games for quite a long time now
and I’ve got to look at it and see that the team has a soft
centre.
“They
haven’t got the willpower to fight their way out of trouble,
they appear to have lost that.
“I will always believe that there is a chance to escape relegation
but I can understand that others will not give us any hope
after today.
“The
problem is I might feel there is a chance but do the players?
“I just wonder whether the players have been thinking for
a few weeks that they can’t do it.
“I’m naturally optimistic but I’m not stupid enough not to
realise that we need to produce a miracle.
“We need to continue to do our best and at the same time ensure
that if Leicester do go down they are in the best shape to
get back as quickly as possible to the Premier League.
Sky's
pundit, Rodney Marsh, today labelled Leicester as the "worst
Premiership side in the world ever".
