Despite Bassett's assurances that nothing would happen this
week, City have moved mountains and managed to sign Paul Dickov
from Manchester City this morning, meaning he can go straight
into the squad tomorrow against Derby if necessary.
The
Scottish International, who started out at Arsenal before
moving to Man City for £1m, should sign before the deadline
this lunchtime and be revealed at a 12 noon press conference.
Dickov
has signed an 18 month deal.
On
the official site, Bassett said:
"We have agreed a nominal fee with Manchester City and the
player is currently undergoing his medical.
"He
is an experienced player with an eye for goal and will certainly
be an asset to us in our current position."
