Dennis Wise's season is over (cue cheering hoardes of fed up City fans).

His trip to the specialist in Italy revealed that he needs an operation and will be out for the rest of the campaign.

Many City fans are actually relieved, sad as it is to say, (and we wouldn't wish pain and suffering on anbyone but Derby / Villa / Trees fans ) as his displays this season have at best been mediocre, at worst, bloody dire.

Bassett is upset with the fans' reactions and wanted Wisey out there as a leader. Most fans don't agree and think he's just been collecting his pension.

Taylor signed him on a long contract for someone of his age and stupidly high wages which on recent performances took the piss out of some of the other players.

Let's hope his form has been down to injury and that he'll come back next season hungry for it. In the meantime maybe at last Jonesy and Oakesy will get a chance to shine. And take proper free kicks and corners. Hallelujah.
