Basset
was pretty pleased with Leicester's performance but still
bemoaning our lack of ability to score goals. Good job Newcastle
couldn't either. As he said to the Beeb,
"We
can't score goals for love or money... they couldn't score
in a brothel but that's not the thing to say." !
On
the official site he reiterated with
""We
can't score a goal for love nor money - there will be one
heck of a celebration when we do "
Bassett
continued with,
"I've
told the players that I was pleased with their performance
and really there was not much more they could have done in
the match.
"It's
very frustrating, especially 13 matches without scoring this
season.
"We've
let ourselves down earlier in the season by not showing the
mental toughness to win a game but today I thought we were
mentally tough throughout.
"I
been a difficult week for injuries. Gunnlaugsson was going
to Sheffield United on loan but now has an injury, Brian Deane
damaged a calf muscle in training and now Ian Walker has aggravated
his back.
"Perhaps
the chairman or I have run over a black cat or something."
Magpies
boss, Bobby Robson agreed that Leicester were the better team
for a lot of the game, saying,
"It
was probably our worst 45-minute performance of the season
in the first half."
