Bassett
was fuming today (again) as his players showed that they had
learnt nothing from earlier defeats and threw away a 2goal
and 2 men advantage to only get a draw at Bolton.
Speaking
to Sky, Bassett said,
I'm
quite speechless, ( then he ranted for half an hour as
usual- Ed) extremely disappointed to throw it away," he
said. "It's scandalous really.
Eleven
men against nine men and we were 2-0 up. We gave them a lift
by conceding a simple goal, which should have been protected,
to give them hope.
"Then
we didn't finish them in the second half and if you give a
mug a chance he will get up and mug you. That's exactly what
happened.
"In
the final moments we just needed to show more resilience and
Leicester City teams at the moment don't seem to have too
much resilience. They seem to have too many clangers in the
bag.
"It
was a defining game for us and I'm very disappointed."
On
the official site Bassett added,
"We
threw the game and three points away which is scandalous and
I'm bitterly disappointed.
"To
be 2-0 up against nine men there should have been no problem.
But we created a problem by conceding a sloppy goal in the
first half which has been indicative of Leicester City this
season."
Robbie
Savage told of the two tackles on him which resulted in red
cards on the official site...
"I'm
sure the press will have a field day, calling me the bad guy
but if they look at the TV replays if they don't see anything
wrong with those tackles they need their heads examining.
"It
was two bad tackles and they happened to me. The game is in
a bad state when the manager has to take you off because he's
worried you might break your leg or get yourself sent off.
