Damien
Delaney is to stay at Stockport on loan for another month after
impressing new boss Carlton Palmer.
Palmer
asked if he could keep Damien until the end of the season,
but Bassett has said a month only for now.
Palmer
told Stockport's official website:
"Although
we wanted the boy to stay until the end of the season we are
pleased that he has decided against returning to Leicester.
"He's
getting fitter now and I thought he played well at Burnley.
He could prove to be a key figure over the next few games."
At
the same time, our other City youngster out on loan, Matt
Piper, is to also have his loan extended at Mansfield for
a month
Stags
boss Billy Dearden said to the Mercury :
"Obviously
I'm pleased we have got Matthew for another month and I still
hope we can get him for the rest of the season.
"I
have asked but Leicester are a bit short of players at the
moment.
"They
don't want to sell Matthew and may be looking for Benjamin
to make a permanant move.
"I'm
just waiting for the call to say a deal on Benjamin has been
done, but it has to be sorted out before the end of the year.
They want Matthew to be playing first-team football and he
is getting the chance to do that here.
"But,
really we have to take it a month at a time and see what happens.
"He
is delighted he is staying and we are more than happy about
that."
A
permanent deal has also been struck between Wolves and City
at last for Dean Sturridge. Neither side are disclosing the
fee at present. It all depends on him agreeing personal terms
and passing a medical now.
