Both Academy teams did the opposite to the first team today thank goodness.

They put in good second half performances to win their games 4-0 against Norwich's & Southampton's academy sides.

The U-19s were away at Norwich and Jon Stevenson was on target (again) twice (and missed a pen), Eamon Zayed got his first goal for the club, and Rob Purdie popped one in too.

The U-17s were at home to the Saints' kids and Tommy Wright scored yet another- his 13th in 13 matches this season (eat your heart out Bobby Zamora, only 9 in 9) - while the Finnish youngster Tomi Petrescu showed why we should be interested with one too. Kevin Larvin scored the third and the Saints got an own goal.

If only the first team showed as much promise...
