LCFC
and Birse are opening up the new stadium for the first time
to fans on Saturday, 15th December.
City
fans will have the chance to walk down the player’s tunnel
and view the playing area before returning through the new
West Stand concourse area.
The
stadium will be open 10am until 3pm and the City squad will
be there during the afternoon before they depart for Leeds
United at 2pm.
Filbert,
Vicky and Dennis will also be there to entertain kids and
there'll be refreshments available.
Birse
have assured FFS they haven't found any Derby supporters working
on the stadium as yet trying to smuggle Derby shirts under
the pitch, but have apologised for the Man Utd fans that are
there. Birse have tried to employ local people and firms wherever
possible including securing a partnership with local company
Elequip. They're doing a storming job and are still on schedule
as we reach the half way point in the project.
So
far no names have stuck to the stadium, and negotiations are
still going on with a big local firm about naming rights.
There were plenty of suggestions on last night's Radio Leicester
phone in including "Birch's Boudoir"! One of the
favourites so far seems to be The Foxes Den.
Tell us what you think about this in our FFS Fans
Forum.
