“I
fully expect us to collect all three points.” was what John
Gregory said a couple of days ago. What a daft thing to say
in football. His comments after the match weren't so cheerful
as he blasted his players for a lacklustre performance and
Ginola for getting sent off.
"There
was no need for that from Ginola and if there was any chance
of us getting back into the game it went from that minute
onwards.
"Getting
sent off for that was futile. It was totally unnecessary.
I've always prided my team on conducting themselves properly
and that was totally unnecessary. He will be fined."
Bassett
on the other hand was in a jovial mood, especially over Ade's
shirt off, muscles on show again, celebration.
""He
had to take his shirt off again didn't he? The ladies love
it. They all want him - my wife wants him. She sees his body
then realises mine's not up to much. What can I do?""
"
"Everybody worked hard today and did their jobs properly.
The defending was the best I've seen since I've been here."
Ade
was having none of the questions as to whether Frank Sinclair
nudged the ball in...
"I
have claimed it - and that is that! There is no way Sinco
is taking it off me!The ball had crossed the line before he
touched it, although I'm sure he was just making sure."
Journalists
were united in their praise of Leicester and bashing of Villa,
although one tabloid tried to make out Leicester's Wise and
Savage were intent on kicking Villa off the park which was
little over the top. Unless you look at the foul count! (see
match report)
Journalists
were split on man of the match with the awards going to Ade,
Sav and even Lee Marshall.
