Brian
Deane finally became a Leicester City player today after much
faffing about.
The
33 year old Yorkshireman (Leeds born) has signed an 18-month
deal for an undisclosed fee, but it is rumoured to be only
about £200,000 as Boro wanted rid of him and having
to pay his wages.
Deane
will immediately go into the squad for the trip to Villa Park
this Saturday.
Deane
made an initial impact at Sheff Utd after signing from Donny
Rovers. He has also played for Leeds, Benfica and Middlesboro'.
Speaking
to the official site Brian said,
"There
is pressure on any new signing but with me being a striker,
and the current climate here at Leicester, I suppose there
will be more than usual. But it certainly won't affect me.
"I've
scored goals wherever I've been and my record speaks for itself.
Hopefully I can also help some of the other strikers here
notch a couple of goals.
"It's
all about everybody chipping in but if I can finish as the
club's top scorer then I'll be very happy. That's got to be
my aim."
Having
said that he could finsih with only 5 this season and probably
still be top scorer the rate we're going at!
