Leicester
City still hope to bring 6ft 2" Chinese striker Zhang
Yuning to Leicester until the end of the season.
The
application for a work permit for Zhang was rejected because
he alledgedly does not fulfil strict criteria of having appeared
in 75% of recent Chinese internationals.
Dave
Bassett will be going along to a special appeal in Sheffield
on friday to argue the case for Zhang's permit and submit
written testomonies and show videos of the lanky striker in
action.
Bassett
said on the official site earlier this week:
"We're
hopeful that we will be successful. Yuning is China's number
one striker and he will be playing for them in the World Cup
Finals next season."
And
signing him to Leicester will mean whopping great sales of
Leicester shirts over in a huge untapped market!City could
pay for him ten times over on merchandise sales in China if
all goes to plan. And he may score some goals for us. That
would be novel...
Whilst
FFS can understand that the rules have to be applied fairly,
it's barking mad that someone cannot be allowed a work permit
just because they haven't played enough games for their national
side. He will be fully employed here, and paying a bloody
great chunk of tax here. Who made these stupid immigration
rules up and aint it about time they were changed?
