City's
reserves lost 1-0 to the Tractor Boyz ressies in Kettering
last night, in what was a lacklustre game. You wouldn't think
they were trying to impress the new bosses would you? Micky
will be tripling training at this rate.
Ellison
and Scowcroft made some attempts up front, and Roycey played
well in goal.
It
was Micky's last game in charge of the ressies though as Dave
Bassett has appointed Peter Shirtliff from Birmingham City
to the job.
Shirtliff
is caught up in the uncertainty of Trevor Francis' departure
at Brum, and couldn't turn down the chance to join his former
Barnsley colleague Dave Bassett at the Filbert Street .
Shirtliff
said on the official Blues website:
"I'm
disappointed to be leaving and I have really enjoyed my time
here.
"But
with the current managerial situation, Dave's offer to join
him at Leicester was just too good to turn down."
Shirtliff
is another Yorkshire lad from Barnsley who was a good defender
with Sheff Weds, Charlton, Barnsley, and Wolves in a long
career spanning 1978-1996.
