LCFC
have announced that they will operate a predominantly no smoking
policy for supporters' comfort in the new stadium.
The
Club say that they "have recognised that some supporters
may wish to smoke during their time in the ground and have
agreed to relax the restrictions for pre-defined times in
certain areas."
Here
are the rules...
Supporters
may smoke in their seating areas (with the exception of the
family enclosure) at the following times:
· Before the game up to five minutes before the kick off.
· At half-time.
· After the game.
For
the avoidance of doubt, all concourse areas are designated
no smoking areas at all times and the family enclosure is
a no smoking area at all times. We ask that supporters who
do wish to smoke adhere strictly to the conditions and that
they respect supporters' wishes close to them who may be non-smokers.
All
stewards will be asked to ensure that these conditions are
strictly enforced. This policy will be implemented for a one-season
trial period for the 2002/03 season only, to be reviewed thereon
and is subject to any changes in legislation with regard to
the issue of passive smoking.
Is
this a fair balance for smokers and non-smokers? Should people
be able to go to a game in this day and age and not have to
put up with cancer ridden smoke from selfish bastards at any
time?
Or
should it not be a problem in the open air and a free country,
after all, smoking aint illegal is it?
Tell us what you think about this in the Fans
Forum.
