After
Peter Taylor called for some clarification from the board
over his future with Leicester this weekend, City supremo
John Elsom has assured him that he has the backing of the
board.
"Let's
make it quite clear" Said Elsom, "Peter is not being
judged on a match-by-match basis.
"There
has been a tremendous amount of speculation about Peter's
future and we have seen all sorts of stories being written.
"Peter
Taylor is the manager of Leicester City, full stop. These
stories can potentially have an unsettling effect and I am
now spelling out the situation.
"Our
performance against Ipswich was a big improvement and is something
which we are all desperate to build upon.
"Stories
about the next game being Peter's last are not helpful. What
we now need is for everyone to get behind him and the players
and for us all to pull together.
"I
have every confidence in Peter to get matters right. The response
of supporters was magnificent against Ipswich on Saturday.
"Now
we need to move forward and I am confident we will be able
to do exactly that."
Although
stories are still circulating that Peter Taylor does not have
the full backing of every member of the City board, it now
looks like his future is secure, even if it is just for now.
