Ex-City
boss Martin O'Neill has sent some words of comfort to City's
next possible ex-manager.
Speaking
through his program notes column for tomorrow's match program
Taylor said, It is at times like these when you find
out not only about yourself but about others around you as
well.
I
really appreciated speaking to Martin O'Neill earlier this
week. Martin gave me some valuable words of encouragement
and pointed out that he went through a very similar scenario.
My
objectives and ambitions for this club are no different to
the ones that I held when I first arrived here 14 months ago.
I
remain as totally focussed on achieving those aims as I was
on day one, despite the recent distractions.
Let's
make it perfectly clear, I believe in the players I have here
and I believe in myself. Right now that's the most important
thing of all.
There
can be no excuses for the start to the season we have made
and I do not intend to offer any.
Many
of you will remember that Martin O'Neill had less than an
easy ride within his first few games in charge at Filbert
Street. Luckily though it all turned out OK for Mr. O'Neill
and he went onto become one of Leicester's most successful
managers before leaving to manage Celtic last Summer.
Taylor
though has had a much rougher ride with many poor results
at the end of last season and the opening two games of this
season. Many regard his position as a very perilous one with
the general view that only a win will save him tomorrow.

do you think O'Neill told Taylor? Tell us in the Fans
