City
boss Peter Taylor could be in serious trouble for this weekends
crucial home clash against Ipswich.
City
have Muzzy Izzet doubtful due to an ankle injury, Andrew Impey
is struggling with his knee as is Callum Davidson, Dean Sturridge
who has pulled his hamstring, Stefan Oakes has shin problems
while Arnar Gunnlaugsson attempts to get his thigh right intime
for Saturday. Trevor Benjamin also has trouble with his calf.
Long
term injuries have also been suffered by Gerry Taggart who
is still recovering from knee surgery, Gary Rowett who has
recently undergone a cartilage operation and Darren Eadie
who is out for the season while he attempts to right his troublesome
knee through surgery.
Dennis
Wise is suspended after his red card against Arsenal two weeks
ago and will also miss this weekends clash.
City
also have several players on International duty which could
add to City's injury woes if any of them pick up knocks while
flying the flag for their respective countries.
Both
Robbie Savage and Matt Jones are on duty for Wales while Frank
Sinclair is with the Jamaican national squad and is not expected
back until Friday. Matt Elliott will be helping out with Scotland
and Ian Walker will be with England after his surprise call
up yesterday.
This
has all got Peter Taylor very worried, in fact to the point
where he has included youngsters Jordan Stewart, who played
against Arsenal, Matthew Heath, Martin Reeves, Matthew Piper
and Danny Thomas into the squad.
Taylor
told reporters, "It's a very frustrating time for us.
The amount of injuries means we've had to draft in several
of our younger players.
"As
well as the injuries, we will not have several of our senior
international players back in training until the Friday before
the game."
