It
looks like Leicster City manager Peter Taylor has been upsetting
our friends at Wolves over their attempts to re-sign Ade Akinbiyi.
Wolves
chief executive Jez Moxey confirmed that Wolves formally approached
City with a view to re-signing Leicester's 26-year-old under
achieving striker but was met with a very stern Peter Taylor.
Moxey
though believes that the only thing stopping Ade Akinbiyi
becoming a Wolves player again is Peter Taylor's pride! It
appears that Peter Taylor does not wish to make a loss on
his first and most expensive signing.
The
Wolves supremo said "We have made a number of inquiries
about the availability of different strikers this summer and
Ade was one of the players we thought about.
"However,
we have been told that he is not for sale. In all honestly,
I think Peter would sell him but he does not have the appetite
to do business with us.
"I
think he feels he overpaid when he bought Ade for £5
million last year and, as we would not pay that figure, Peter
would lose face if he sold him to us at a large loss. I think
he's too proud a man to do that."
In
all honesty FFS can not see that being the only reason why
we are stuck with Akinbiyi. Not only would any loss on his
put even more pressure on Taylor to quit, it would also prove
that he is as inept at playing the transfer market as we first
feared.
On
the other hand, Akinbiyi has constantly under perfomaned and
some would say that money in the bank is better than money
down the drain. But for all of Akinbyi's sins, do City have
anyone to replace him?
