According
to press reports in today's Sunday People, former West Ham
boss and current director of football at Portsmouth, Harry
Redknapp, is to be asked to take over from Peter Taylor as
manager of Leicester City.
Although
chairman John Elsom did assure Taylor that he would get the
time that he had been asking for, it now looks like other
members of the board have run out of patience with the only
City manager to lose 13 consecutive away matches.
According
to the People, Redknapp has already been contacted and if
he accepts the position, he will be installed as City's new
manager within the next 48 hours.
Any
move for Redknapp, or any other manager for that matter, will
come as a shock to most fans who had resigned themselves to
giving Taylor at least until after the Ipswich match before
making a decision about his future.
It still remains to be seen whether or not this is again just
a case of paper talk or gospel truth, but one thing is for
sure, Peter Taylor's time is definitely running out. What
