It
has been revealed that struggling City boss Peter Taylor turned
down a coaching job in the summer with another Premiership
side that would have allowed him to continue his involvement
with England. Although it was not revealed exactly where the
job it is thought that he was offered the then vacant Middlesborough
or West Ham job.
Whether
or not that will turn out to be a bad decision remains to
be seen as Taylor struggles to improve on the current form
of his struggling City side.
With
just about every newspaper in Britain along with most City
fans asking how long Taylor will be given before he gets the
push, City's under fire manager decided to tell some of those
newspapers just exactly what was going on.
He
started by saying, :"I've heard the speculation but I'm
still manager of Leicester.
"I'm
going to work my socks off and so are the players. I'm in
a positive frame of mind despite the two bad results."
"I
will still be in charge for the home game against Ipswich
a week on Saturday.
"I am the manager of Leicester City.
"That's me, Peter Taylor, not one of these other names
that are being bandied about at the moment." Taylor insisted.
He also tried to dismiss rumours of dressing room bust ups
with players by saying, "There are also suggestions that
I have lost the confidence of our dressing room.
"That is not true, either.
"I continue to believe I can bring further success to
Leicester but obviously I need the chance and a little bit
of time to be able to do so."
Does
this prove that Taylor is loyal to the blue and white? Or
should we sack him anyway? Tell us your views in the Fans
