With
the whirlwind, should he quit campaign gathering pace John
Elsom has gone on record to public back Peter Taylor.
Elsom
insisted that there was no need to panic just yet and went
on to inform a certain official website that Taylor would
get the time he asked for to try and improve on City's dismal
start to the season.
Elsom
said, "Whilst two games, including one at Arsenal with
a weakened team on a ground where we rarely do well, is hardly
enough to judge the likely outcome of the season we do have
a crucial series of matches coming up in September and we
will need to see much improvement sooner rather than later
in what is a crucial year for the Club before we move into
our new stadium.
"With
the return to fitness of most of the players, three new faces
coming in, and what I thought had been a spirited performance
against Fiorentina, I was very optimistic a few days before
the start of the season but ten days can be a long time in
football.
"It
is important to remain calm but all of us at the Club know
that things have got to improve.
"I
think we have a squad of players more than capable of being
successful in the Premiership and I am pleased that this two-week
break gives Peter and the team time to take stock ahead of
our next match at home against Ipswich Town."

chairman speak the truth? Or does he speak with forked tongue?
