It
doesn't look like it's a matter of IF Peter Taylor
is sacked now but WHEN.
He
has apparently losing his support within the boardroom, the
fans are all but ready to oust him themselves and even the
players have had enough. He says he wants time, he says that
he wants the challenge of turning things around. But Forfoxsake
believes that time has ran out for Mr Taylor.
But
even though by reading the papers and listening to the phone
ins on the radio it would seem that that's all we need to
do. Sack Taylor, get a new guy in and everything will be ok.
Unfortunately
it isn't quite as simple as that. Assuming that we can even
manage to attract someone half decent to manage City, they
then have the rather attractive job of taking over eight months
of disaster and trying to make everything bettter. In double
quick time.
Make
no mistake about it who ever is chosen to lead City will have
one of the hardest jobs in the Premiership.
For
a start they will need money and we're not sure how much there
is, if there is any at all. Secondly they need to get rid
of a couple of players. Who exactly? Well lets start with
Ade Akinbiyi then Junior Lewis, moving onto Callum Davidson,
Dean Sturridge and Trevor Benjamin.
So
basically we need a whole new strike force, if we act now
we may be able to save the midfield and the defence but up
front, things need to change.
But
players aren't the only thing we need. It's been mentioned
on several occasions by almost everyone, including Peter Taylor,
that City are low on confidence. It's also been said that
the famous Leicester City spirit has disappeared from the
dressing room too. That the players are no longer the buddies
that they used to be.
In
recent history this has happened before. It happened when
a certain fat Scottish man was in charge. The scars of his
short reign at Filbert Street are still fresh and deep. So
deep that we don't even whisper his name. But if the City
dressing room is as bad now as it was then, we have serious
problems.
We
may be able to bring in new players, we may be able to get
rid of the shite. But can we get the confidence and the spirit
back? If we can then it has to be done quickly. Very quickly.
If
we act quickly we may be able to save City. But the scars
of Peter Taylor's year in charge may take alot longer to heal.
