City's
Welsh international Robbie Savage has sent out an email plea
to fans of Leicester in an attempt to stop some of the hatred
directed at manager Peter Taylor.
In
the email, sent from LCFC webmaster John Sanders account,
Robbie explains that it is the players and not Peter Taylor
who has let City's fans down and that "The gaffer"
has taken alot of stick unfairly.
The
email, delivered to all of the people registered on the official
LCFC website, is reprinted below for you to view incase you
are not a member of the site.
One
thing FFS would like to know though is why there is a bit
of code attached to the email that seems to do nothing? Very
strange!
Let's
get one thing straight ... all the players owe the manager
big time.
We've got to repay the faith he has shown in us by putting
in a quality performance at Arsenal on Saturday.
Our
display against Bolton was simply not acceptable - and I include
myself in that.
I
have to say that this week has been one of the hardest during
my time at the club.
The
manager has taken a fair bit of stick ... unfairly I believe.
I get on with the gaffer great.
He's
looked after me and he is a great person who deserves better.
I signed a new contract in the summer because I believe in
him and I believe in the club.
These
last few days in the wake of the Bolton match have been tough.
There can be no excuses for our performance on the opening
day of the season.
The
manager picked what I believe to be the strongest team he
had available to him.
Pre-season
had gone great. Everyone was genuinely confident and we all
felt capable of getting a result.
A
lot has been said about systems but it didn't matter whether
we played 4-4-2, 3-52 or even 9-1-0.
Once
we crossed that line it was down to the players and the blame
must be laid at our door.
We've
been working hard on the training ground this week and now
is the time for us to show that Bolton was a freak result.
Of
course, we could hardly have picked a tougher place to visit
than Arsenal. Even when we have been flying in recent years
they have tended to bring us down to earth with a bump.
But
the players can assure the fans and everyone that we will
be giving it absolutely everything at Highbury.
We
showed some great battling qualities against them at Filbert
Street when we played with 10 men for an hour last season
and earned a point in a 0-0 draw.
We
have to show that same spirit resolve again at Highbury. And
I believe we will.
After
Highbury we have got a two-week break before our home game
against Ipswich but I shall be on international duty with
Wales.
On
Sunday I will be playing in a charity golf day for Gary Lineker
in Surrey. Gary rang me a couple of weeks ago to invite me
to play in the tournament and I'm delighted to accept the
invitation.
Form
there, I will travel directly to Cardiff to join up with the
Welsh international squad.
We
play Armenia at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday and then
jet out to Oslo to face Norway in another World Cup qualifier.
We
are not due to fly back until Thursday so I won't be back
at the club until the day before that Ipswich game.
Right
now, though, the only thing on my mind is Arsenal. And I can
promise all our supporters that we will do everything possible
to set the record straight.
Take
Care
Robbie
