Peter
Taylor has admitted for the first time that he fears getting
the axe at Leicester if his results do not improve.
Peter
Taylor said, "I think our performance on Saturday has
probably shortened my time here if we carry on like that and
because of the run last year people may have given me eight
games," he said. "If that run continued I would
be struggling.
"To
hear 'Taylor out' cries after one game I don't think is very
helpful. I don't think that is enough time, I don't think
that is fair. But I understand it and understand that certain
directors might lose patience.
"The
fans that want me out are the noisiest. I think a lot of the
fans on Saturday realise I couldn't have done anything. It
is something that happened. But they are the quiet ones. Hopefully
the quiet ones win."
"Wherever
I've been I have built a decent team and it will happen here
given time."
According
to Guardian Unlimited a senior player, who did not want to
be named for fear of reprisals said, "We know we have
to put in a good performance against Arsenal and unless we
do that Peter could be sacked," the player said. "And
even then only a win against Ipswich in our next home game
will do. The players know our performance against Bolton was
unacceptable and we're desperate to put things right for the
manager."
