Pretty
much another lacklustre performance up until Gabbers kicked
off and we decided to beat the crap out of him and his crappy
team.
Yes
we passed the ball around well beautifully, and yes some individuals
showed some lovely touches, but they went through our defence
like butter and we were sluggish and lazy.
Look
at their previous thrashings...
Boston
Utd 5 Cobblers
1 Cobblers1 Chelsea 7
Cobblers 0 Wimbledon 7
Hednesford 2 Cobblers 0
Shamrock 5 Cobblers 3
and
all we scrape is a 2-1 win.
I
know we raise our game (and lower it) according to the opposition
and I know it's only pre-season, but I still aint confident
we're going to come out the week after next firing on all
cylinders after watching all the games this week.
None
of the opposition have been any good in the pre-season and
not tested us one jot.
Marco
Gabbiadini was a twat when I knew him in York. He is still
a twat now. I have no idea what he said to Frank to wind him
up, but Frankie tried quite hard twice to break his legs.
Sav split them up and got an elbow in the head for his trouble
as Wisey got stuck in.
Sav
got his own back later and smashed Gabbers in the face and
should've been off.
Best
bit was Ade's goal though as Wisey ran around Gabbers in circles
sticking one finger up at him!
Ade's
goal was beautiful. Chested a long ball down brilliantly from
Wisey, controlled it well, prodded it past the defender and
whacked it home low and hard past the goalie. Wonderful stuff.
Sav's
goal was amazing too...a screamer of a header from a Frank
cross in off the far post. Dunno who was most surprised it
went in, him, us or the bench. Garry Parker couldn't believe
it.
Walker
was fuming with their goal, but he couldn't stop it. They
cut through us and our defence were absolutely nowhere, lovely
chip from Forrester who was great for them in the 2nd half,
just dipped at the last minute.
We
seem to fall apart the minute we take a few of our key players
off (Ie Matty and Muzzy at half time). Muzzy got stood on
early on, on the head. And Sturridge took a big knock and
looked at one point like he'd cracked ribs or something. Bunch
of old crocks.

Att:
2,806. The City fans filled the entire end stand and they
had to open the other side for us too. Nice little stadium
(mainly paid for by the Council). Shame thay have a crap team
really.
Have City been disappointing in Pre-season, or are we going
to be ok? Tell us in the Fans
Forum.
